Bright sharp steel descendsing
A pain small compared to loss
Ancient pressure releasing
Thirty-seven centigrade
Focused will or desperate measure
Journey's start or endless night
Refuge sought from life gone mad
Battles lost without a fight
Final gamble and loaded dice
Falling fast without a net
Stare too long into the fire
It consumes without regrets
Fleeing from internal demons
Spirits broken run no more
Paying out emotions price
Drop
By
Drop
Upon the floor
(Written in 8-7-7-7, rhymes are incidental)
(Oh god I'm writing poetry)

I like this, Cats. I especially like the last few lines--they read like an exhale.

Thanks! I've been thinking a lot lately, and one of the thoughts was: what kind of poetry do I enjoy writing? I like to write stuff with a quick stacato rhythm, and I try to use a minimum of words to convey an idea. Thanks Lioness, for noticing this!
And yeah, Enra, it's like that final exhale.
I sure was depressed when I wrote this, but I'm glad I did write something. I'll try to write some more
better to write about it than to do it. Ack! A typo!
